Wine HK is Hong Kong’s largest pop-up wine cellar in Hong Kong, with a list for purchase of over 800 wines across 100 booths and more or less 10,000+ attendees. In 2014, Wine HK was organised at the Central Harbourfront in Central boasting unparalleled views of Hong Kong Harbour and conveniently located near piers 9 & 10.
Presented by Ironmonger Events, Wine HK launched in 2013 to huge success and extremely positive feedback from attendees, vendors and sponsors alike.
This year arete food and wine consulting presented Castel di Salve and Tenuta Mara wines
CASTEL DI SALVE
Great professionality goes into the product with the main aim being innovation and excellence. “What counts is not where we come from, but what we are and how we do what we do”. With this idea in mind, in 1992 two young wine lovers, established the Castel di Salve wine growing and producing business in Salento, south of Puglia. Within the family property there are more than 40 hectares of vines and one of the company leading principle is that the wine is produced exclusively with their own grapes. Everybody is in love with Castel di Salve Armecolo (negramaro and malvasia grapes)!
Tenuta Mara is not just a simple vineyard in Emilia Romagna, but a complex and complete organism because from the beginning it has adopted the holistic principles of biodynamic agriculture. The respect they have for nature also accompanies them in the process of transforming grapes into wine. They don’t take any shortcuts: enological synthetic and corrective products are not used and will never be used at Tenuta Mara. After carefully tasting the wine, they bottle only the best. at WineHK we presented MaraMia 2012, fruit of the third grape harvest of Tenuta Biodinamica Mara, is mentioned in the Yearbook of the Best Italian Wines 2014 by Luca Maroni, who reviewed it as the best biodynamic red wine of the year.
